October - Bras for a Cause Contact Victoria’s Attic if you are willing to sell paper bras for donations to fund a chemo bed at the QEII    

 

Oct 28th      Halloween Walking Parade - Judging with begin at about 11:15am at the Montrose Cultural Center and the Parade will head out about 11:30 – proceed down 100th Ave from 99th Street – 101 Street and loop back for Hot Dogs, Juice, Cookies & Photos. We expect about 300 so please have your treats ready. “Spot & Dot” the friendly Dalmatians will go ahead of the parade to give you a heads up. -The parade takes place on the sidewalk with Enforcement Services doing intersection control. 

November   Random Acts of Kindness Month -  We will be offering Facebook contests as well we will be delivering window stickers for your use.  

Nov 17th Vegas Night - Cut the cards, spin the wheel, throw the dice for discounts. This is a huge regional draw so get your games & staff ready. Open till 11pm. GP Transit is offering extended hours

 

Nov 24     Black Friday Promotion -We will be doing some coordinated advertising so watch for our e-mail asking if you will be offering Black Friday Deals. Also, we will distribute 3’ light up palm trees to designate who is offering Black Friday Deals.

 

Dec 1st – 23rd Elf on a Shelf will be back. What will he be doing each week? We will be promoting a Facebook/Selfie contest. Watch for our e-mail asking if you want to participate.

Dec 3   Santa Clause Parade - Begins at 3pm. 100th Ave – 102nd Street – proceeds east to 100th Street, turns south and then west on 99th Ave and disperses at Revolution Place - Join us at Revolution Place Plaza to light up the 30’ Downtown Christmas tree at 4:30pm. Hot Chocolate & Cookies will be served. The “Tree of Joy” is a beauty – Thanks to Shirley at Pure Home for her effort in getting this awesome addition to Christmas downtown.

DOWNTOWN REHABILITATION AND STREETSCAPES PROJECT   PHASE 1 & 2 HIGHLIGHTS   An updated project schedule is on cityofgpcom/ourdowntown.

The contractor has indicated Phases 1 & 2 of the project are on schedule to be completed early this November ·  This month, crews are completing streetscape features such as paving stone installation, installation of planter beds, installations of trees, and installation of street furniture
